A tactful but finicky older mayor named Milot and a mature but bossy teenaged merchant named Menelau  tortured a forgiving but overambitious aging dignitary named Dunixe in an empty ruin. The action centers on a flood. A friendly but sarcastic adult slaver named Sperling and a determined but callous teenaged queen named Francisca hamper the story.
